Two people were injured, one seriously, following a three car crash that closed a portion of US 30 for nearly four hours yesterday morning. Police say a westbound car crossed the center line and sideswiped another vehicle. The car then crashed head on with a pickup.
A Boise luxury home builder was sentenced to up to 16 years in prison for defrauding sub-contractors. Along with serving prison time, 60-year-old Michael J. Eisenbeiss Jr. was also ordered to pay $352 thousand. He contracted with several local businesses to build custom homes in Eagle and Star and wrote more than $150,000 in bad checks.
The BLM want to hear from you on a proposed plan to collect fees. They propose to charge $20/night at the Silver Creek and Wilson Lake Campgrounds, at all campgrounds at Magic Reservoir once they have been upgraded, and any campgrounds developed in the future. It also includes a $10/day or $75 annual fee for using the BLM boat ramps located at Magic Reservoir.
Governor Brad Little and Lt. Governor Scott Bedke say they are happy to see the Idaho farmer's progress for a new agreement that would maintain the control of our water and protect agriculture and water rights. The Executive Order has mandated that the groups develop a mitigation plan by October 1.
An eastern Idaho school district is suing the state, saying a groundbreaking facilities law puts nearly $7.7 million in funding in limbo. The Oneida School District says the wording of the new laws threatens state funding that was earmarked long before the 2024 session and before lawmakers agreed on an omnibus plan to pour $1.5 billion of state dollars into school facilities.
A group of lawyers on behalf of private Idaho schools have sued Idaho officials in federal court to stop the enforcement of House Bill 710, a law that libraries must follow. Under the new legislation libraries must relocate a library item that someone deems “harmful” to an area with adult access only. Failing to relocate the item within 60 days of receiving the request the library faces a $250 fine.
