Authorities have charged a 26 year old Rexburg man with the death of 6 people after his pickup collided with a passenger van.  On May 18th, Luis Garcia-Diaz was traveling on U.S. 20 near Idaho Falls when the accident occurred.  Six people died, 9 more were injured including Garcia-Diaz.  Mexican authorities confirmed that the passengers in the van were all ag workers on H-2a worker visa’s. 



An often-controversial animal rights group has asked Idaho’s attorney general to investigate a wildlife park’s business claims, which the activist group said misled the public into believing the park is a rescue operation. PETA, filed the consumer protection complaint about Yellowstone Bear World earlier this month, urging the attorney general’s office to investigate alleged insinuations from the park and its staff that Yellowstone Bear World is a sanctuary or nonprofit.  Complaints do not require the attorney general’s office to investigate.



The Memorial Day weekend signaled the start of the 100 deadliest days on Idaho Roads.  It will extend through Labor Day.  70 have been killed on Idaho roads so far this year. 

The annual Magic Valley Shrine Prep football game was held yesterday in Burley.  In the 8 man game the north took the south 28 to 20.  For the 11 man game, the south took the win 44 to 6. 



The trial of an Idaho man who has been accused of planning an ISIS-related attack in Coeur d’Alene has been delayed until next year.  The jury trial of 18 year old Alexander Scott Mercurio was set to begin today, but has been continued until May 5, 2025.Mercurio was arrested in early April for "attempting to provide material support and resources to ISIS.



A jury has awarded more than $1.1 million to an Idaho drag performer who accused a far-right blogger of defaming him when she falsely claimed that he exposed himself to a crowd, including children, during a Pride event in June 2022.  The jury unanimously found Friday that Summer Bushnell defamed Post Falls resident Eric Posey when she posted a doctored video of his performance with a blurred spot that she claimed covered his “fully exposed genitals,” In reality the unedited video showed no indecent exposure.
