A day after the Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole denied his request for clemency; the Idaho Department of Correction received the death warrant for convicted serial killer Thomas Creech.   Creech was sentenced to death for the murder of a fellow inmate in 1981.  He has admitted to killing or participating in the killing of at least 26 people.  An execution date is set for Feb. 28.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals is blocking enforcement of a ban on gender-affirming medical care for transgender people under 18 until a ruling is given.  The ACLU of Idaho called the decision a victory.

Republicans on a U.S. House panel blasted the Biden administration on Tuesday for an agreement they said paved the way for four dams’ removal from the Snake River in eastern Washington State.  The agreement to take steps to restore salmon populations in the Snake River that President Joe Biden announced in December would lead the way to removing four dams on the river.

The CSI Refugee Program will have new administrative management. The United States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants will take over the day-to-day management of the center.   The Refugee Center has been affiliated with CSI since 1980.  CSI will continue to partner with the center for educational and workforce training for relocated refugees.

Idaho lawmakers introduced a bill Tuesday to allow tax credits for parents who send their children to private schools, a proposal that opens the door for $50 million in state funds to go toward private education a system that would create what’s commonly known as school vouchers.   It would allow families to receive up to a $5,000 tax rebate for school expenses while special needs children could receive up to $7,500.

The Twin Falls fire department led the cleanup for a potato waste spill that happened Saturday evening near Hankins and Kimberly Roads.  Vehicles began losing control when they drove over the mess.  In the end, a team from the city, broom trucks front end loaders and a large crew of people spent 6 hours on the scene.
