Idaho drivers are seeing a welcome sight at the gas pump the state average is below the $4 mark for the first time since August. According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular in the Gem State is $3.99, which is six cents less than a week ago, 16 cents less than a month ago and 42 cents less than a year ago. The national average currently sits at $3.60 per gallon.
The City of Twin Falls will begin the seasonal shutdown and winterization of pressurized irrigation stations beginning October 23. Subdivisions connected to Pressurized Irrigation will not receive irrigation water until next season typically in late-April. Homeowners are encouraged to winterize their sprinkler systems.
In a highly unusual move, Bonneville County Prosecutor Randy Neal on Monday issued a point-by-point rebuttal to Idaho Falls Superintendent Karla LaOrange’s critiques of his office. The back-and-forth centers around a lawsuit: Neal charged former Idaho Falls Superintendent Jim Shank and district spokesperson Margaret Wimborne for inappropriately using public funds to promote a 2022 bond issue that ultimately failed. Neal fined the two district employees a combined $375. Now, both the district and prosecutors’ office are involved in extended litigation at taxpayers’ expense.
A former Caldwell police sergeant is facing charges of sexually abusing women. 41 year old Ryan Bendawald of Tennessee was indicted according to the Idaho District US Attorney’s office. Starting in 2017, Bendawald allegedly engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with at least 7 women in Caldwell. If convicted he faces life in prison.
Construction on the Twin Falls Fire Station two is finished. It’s been 50 years since a new fire station was built in the city. City officials opened the facility up to the public yesterday.
