Within about a week Idaho homeowners will learn how much they will save on their property taxes this year thanks to a new law passed by the Idaho Legislature. This year, the Idaho Legislature is cutting property taxes by more than $300 million. Property tax notices will tally up the reductions and include a label showing tax relief appropriated by the Legislature.
Attorneys for two national law firms have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to intervene in a federal case in Idaho regarding whether emergency room physicians can continue to be shielded from prosecution under the state’s abortion ban. If the court were to grant the motion, ER doctors in Idaho would again be subject to criminal penalties and loss of medical licenses for performing an abortion.
The 65 year old Twin Falls man who lost control while driving a semi on Highway 93 last Tuesday afternoon has died from his injuries. Police say the trailer tipped and became detached from the power unit. It happened just east of Jerome.
More details are being released through court records following the arrest of two 18 year old suspects from Twin Falls. Mi’Quavis Taylor and Kaden Thomson have been charged with murder. Police in Boise say a woman reported a white Ford pickup was driving recklessly last Friday. The truck eventually crashed into a piller. A white pickup was spotted leaving the scene of the murder on Capri drive in Twin Falls.
Traffic was blocked at 400 north and highway 93 in Jerome yesterday afternoon following a three car pileup. It happened just before 3 pm. Two people were injured.
Governor Brad Little and First Lady Teresa Little invite all Idahoans to celebrate the holiday season at the Idaho Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting on Thursday, November 30. The free celebration will begin at 5:30 p.m. and includes entertainment and remarks from the Governor and First Lady before the official tree lighting at approximately 6:45 p.m.
