Competing bills making major changes to House Bill 521 are crossing the Statehouse rotunda, where their fates are uncertain in the waning days of the legislative session.  The sweeping school facilities funding bill includes a controversial provision that discourages school districts from switching to four-day school weeks. The House and Senate yesterday advanced separate “trailer” bills that direct the State Board of Education to set minimum instructional days and teacher contract days.


Even with legislators hoping to wrap up their annual legislative session this week, the Idaho Legislature may not be finished fighting about the $51 million sale of the Idaho Transportation Department’s flooded former headquarters. Yesterday, the Idaho Senate sent the fiscal year 2025 enhanced budget for the ITD, back to the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee. The budget includes language blocking the state’s $51 million sale of the ITD former headquarters.


The Idaho women's healthcare legislative hearing was canceled after political barbs were exchanged earlier this week.  Lawmakers were set to hear from Idaho experts on the impacts of the state's abortion laws.


Authorities are asking for your help in locating Clint Brammer.  He was last seen a week ago leaving Richfield heading toward Shoshone.  He was in a Blue 2018 Ford F-150 pickup with Lincoln county plates. 


The Twin Falls Pool is re-opening today.  Several improvements have been made while it was closed since the end of February.  That includes recoating the deck.  Installing a new Pump system and adding lap lanes.  In April the pool will return to normal hours.


Idaho Governor Brad Little is condemning an incident in Coeur d’Alene where the University of Utah women’s basketball team was allegedly harassed and screamed in what officials called a major racial incident during the NCAA Tournament.  It was reported the team was walking to dinner when the driver of a truck with a confederate flag started screaming racial slurs at them.
