A new nonprofit is focused on helping Idaho journalists fight for government transparency.  The Idaho First Amendment Alliance, established this year, aims to provide funding for trainings, workshops and court fees for Idaho journalists challenging a public agency’s lack of transparency.   In the last five years, the Idaho Press Club has twice successfully sued government agencies for refusing to provide public records.



A massive expansion in Boise is being herald as the largest private investment in the gem states history.  The $15-billion dollar plan with Micron will make Idaho a leader in technology.  The expansion caught the eye of U.S. senator Mike Crapo who toured the plant yesterday who called the expansion impressive.    



The 911 dispatch center in Jerome known as sircom is looking for more help.  They will be holding an interview day at the location east of Jerome Thursday June 27th. 



Twin Falls is slated to be the next location for what usually turns out to be a very busy and sometimes traffic slowing business.  The In N Out burger is proposing to build a new facility where the Outback steakhouse is currently located near the Perrine Bridge.  The chain opened its first Idaho location in Meridian six months ago where at most times long traffic lines have been noted.



The Idaho department of Fish and Game will host six take me fishing events in magic valley this summer.  The first will be June 12 at the freedom park in Burley.  Another is set for Saturday June 17th at Dirkies Lake in Twin Falls.  Participants will not need a fishing license.



Fire destroyed a Coeur d'Alene police department building early yesterday morning.  The blaze reported around 5 am had over 30 firefighters working to extinguish the fire that destroyed the agency’s IT department, animal control and code enforcement and much of the speciality equipment including a SWAT vehicle.  Officials estimate the loss to be in the millions.
