The lava ridge wind to energy project might be facing another hurdle. The Bureau of Land Management is expected to release a final statement outlining the impact of the proposed wind project on the environment. Congressman Mike Simpson said that if a proposed bill is passed in the senate and house he added a provision to the appropriations act for 2025 that would block the plan.
Idaho power is warning customers of reports from the magic valley that scammers are posing as company representatives asking to inspect electrical meters and other equipment to gain entry to homes and properties. Some are telling residents that they represent the company trying to sell solar panels something that Idaho power said they are not involved with.
The Twin Falls school district said that this fall students will not be allowed to use their cell phones during school hours. In the case of an emergency, parents who need to communicate with their children will need to contact the front office.
The Custer County Sheriff evacuated the Inlet Campground on the west side of Redfish Lake last night due to the Bench Lake Fire. The fire started around 12:30 PM yesterday in the Sawtooth Wilderness.
Software giant Intuit announced it would cut nearly 2,000 employees and close down its campus in Eagle near Boise, as well as a location in Edmonton, Canada. The cuts, a total of 1,800 people 157 in Boise, represent about 10 percent of the company workforce. After it cuts the people and closes the locations, it would then pivot toward artificial intelligence and launch a new hiring spree – hiring a new set of 1,800 workers. Intuit’s stock dropped 3.6% on the news.
The Blaine County Sheriffs office says they arrested 30 year old Jorge Miguel Duenas-Quinto of Ketchum. Officials say he is facing charges of felony enticing children and felony sexual abuse under 16.
