Sports 1/23/24


The Idaho State Bengals defeated the Montana State Bobcats 62-53 in Reed Gym Monday evening. After trailing at the end of the first, the Bengals retook the lead in the 2nd and held it through the end of the game.  Idaho State moves to 8-10 on the season and Montana State moves to 9-10.  The Orange and Black are back home Saturday afternoon taking on the Weber State Wildcats at 2:00 in Reed Gym. Fans are encouraged to 'Orange Out'.


With the College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagle men and women basketball teams taking the win in their games this weekend, they are climbing up in the rankings.  The Men are ranked 22nd and now the ladies are 21st in the polls.


From the local high school basketball games yesterday, first for the boys, Canyon Ridge downed Burley 76 to 65.  Buhl took the win over Gooding 56 to 52.  Dietrich downed the Sun Valley Community School with a 64 to 45 score.  Declo told Aberdeen no way with a score of 60 to 53.


For the girls, Mountain Home defeated Burley 63 to 36.  Murtaugh defeated Castleford 76 to 18.  Richfield outlasted Hagerman 48 to 21.  Gooding told Nampa no with a score of 53 to 29.  Valley outlasted Glenns Ferry 63 to 40.  It was Carey for the win over Shoshone 34 to 23 and Raft River defeated Hansen 71 to 30.


On the schedule for High School varsity basketball for today, first for the boys, Raft River travels to Castleford, Hansen goes to Glenns Ferry, Oakley to Murtaugh, Camas County is on the road to Richfield.  Lighthouse Christian to Shoshone and Carey boards the bus and travels to Valley.


For the girls, Dietrich travels to Hagerman, Burley goes to Jerome and Twin Falls will host Mountain Home.  Canyon Ridge travels to Vallivue, Buhl goes to Wendell and Minico heads north to Wood River.
