Dani Bayes hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 12 seconds remaining to push Boise State past New Mexico, 58-55, last night at ExtraMile Arena. Boise State will close out its homestand on Saturday against Fresno State on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 1 p.m.
Boise State dropped a nonconference road softball game 4-1 to McNeese, yesterday. The Broncos fell to 4-2 with five games remaining on their eight-day road trip. The Broncos open the Tiger Classic at No. 6 LSU, tonight with first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m.
From the district playoffs for High Schools in the area, first looking at the 4A great basin Championship action, Minico downed Canyon Ridge 41 to 29. The Spartans advance to the state tournament, while Canyon Ridge will play in a state play-in game tomorrow as they take on cross-town rivals Twin Falls at Canyon Ridge starting at 6.
In the 3A game, Filer outlasted Kimberly 70 to 49. Kimberly will play the third-place team from the District III Snake River Valley Conference in a play-in game for the state tournament Saturday at Mountain Home.
In 1A D2 action, Dietrich took the win over Camas County 52 to 51. Tomorrow there will be the championship game starting at 7:00 at Richfield High School. The winner advances to state.
In 4A action, Twin Falls for the win over Wood River 75 to 50.
