Sports 3/22/24


Checking in with high school softball scores from yesterday, in a double header Buhl defeated Mountain Home in both games 13 to 0 and 15 to 14.  It was Declo 22 Westside 1.

In baseball action, Kimberly said no to Buhl with a 11 to 3 score. Wendell said no to Declo 11 to 7.


From the Bucks Bag Tournament in Boise, Burley took the win over Kuna 11 to 6.  Meridian said no to Minico 9 to 6.  Then Minico defeated Ridgevue 6 to  5.  Nampa downed Jerome 9 to 6 and it was Homedale 11 Wood River 3.  Then Nampa defeated Wood River 9 to 2. 


The Idaho State Bengals softball team split a midweek doubleheader with the Saint Mary's Gaels of the West Coast Conference yesterday afternoon.  The Bengals dropped the first game in a close-fought 3-0 loss before roaring back in game two, exploding on offense for a 7-2 win.  The Bengals continue their California trip Friday and Saturday taking on the Santa Clara Broncos over three games. First pitch is set for 2:35 PM today.


For those planning on skiing or snowboarding before the season is over, there are only a few weeks left to do so.  The Idaho Ski Areas Association tells us the closing days this season. Bogus basin and Brundage close Sunday April 14th.  Sun Valley Sunday April 21st.  Soldier Mountain Tomorrow and Pomerrelle Saturday April 6th.  Tamarack has not announced a date.  The closing dates don't include possible bonus days, which will be dependent upon weather.


On to the Baseball Schedule  for the weekend, first for today, North Freemont will visit Lighthouse Christian, Burley travels to Twin  Falls, Parma goes to Filer and at the Bucks Bag tournament this weekend in  Boise at Borah, Wood River, Jerome, Burley, Minico and Mountain Home will participate.


On Saturday, Bear Lake and Wendell meet in Declo.


For softball games this weekend Filer and Moscow, Kimberly and Mountain View, Twin Falls and Rocky Mountain, new Plymouth and Canyon Ridge, Gooding and Borah, Jerome and Capital are all participating in the win the pitch spring break classic in the treasure valley.  Elsewhere Wendell will travel to Declo.
